Training Diary

With only 124 days to go until the first leg of the 230 mile challenge begins, both Simon and Ross are training hard. With the evenings drawing in, both have taken well to the early morning schedule.

Tuesday 29th November

This morning, Ross completed his second marathon (26.2 miles) in as many days, the man is a machine!.

Although he rested this morning after a solid 10 mile run yesterday, Simon has just returned from doing 10 x Henford Hill repeats (over 3000 feet of climb) in 50 mins: Strength training.

Wednesday 30th November

Rest Day (very important to let the body recover)

Thursday 1st December

To start the festive season as he means to go on, Simon hit the road again tonight, running a cool (freezing in fact) half marathon (13.1 miles).

Thursday 8th December

Simon's training has been slow going the last week, for a very special reason;

At 9:50am on Tuesday 6th December, Chloe Baker (with Support from Simon) gave birth to Lennon Sol Baker (6lb 5ozs)

Congratulations!!

Ross, on the other hand, doesn't have such a good excuse so he headed out for a 10 mile run (incline training).

Monday 19th December

With Babyshambles the soundtrack to tonight's run, Ross complete a cool, crisp 7 miles run. Only 104 days to go, keep up the good work guys!

Tuesday 20th December

"We're running in the rain, we're running in the rain...."
Finally, after weeks of training individually, Ross & Simon hit the roads together for a 10k run in the rain.

Saturday 7th January

The boys headed out on a mixed trail/road run along the south coast today and rewarded themselves with a 'fresh' ice bath in Weymouth!

Sunday 8th January

20 miles today, 1,100 feet of climb - 5000 calories burnt (That's the Christmas pounds gone!)

Monday 9th January

12 weeks toady.......

Wednesday 11th January

Today Simon squeezed in 5 'Stone Lane' hill repeats at lunch. It was designed for it: 4 mins hard push going up, 3 mins active recovery down!

Sunday 22nd January

Training is hotting up now with both lads putting in some serious miles. We'll try and keep you all up to date here on the Training Diary.

Today was a strong 17.9 miles in a time of 2 hours 16mins (Average 13 min/mile)

Monday 23rd January

No time for Monday Blues with these lads:

12.75 miles today in 1 hours 31 mins (7.16 min/miles)

Tuesday 24th January

Tough couple of days training already this week, so just a mere 11.15 miles today in just 1 hour 20 mins.

Wednesday 25th January

The aim was to match yesterdays distance and pace which Simon completed easily. 11.16 miels in 1hour 20mins (7.12 min/Miles)

Friday 27th January

Just a short 7.96 mile run today ;-) 58 minutes (7.28 min/miles)
